Ginger Our Therapy Dog

Ginger is a fully qualified therapy dog trained through Therapy Animals Australia. Her intensive preparation focussed on building calm, predictable responses in busy school environments. Ginger supports students across the school by helping them self regulate, settle into learning and feel safe during challenging moments.

Ginger is based in the STEM room with Lauren, where students visit for structured sessions that build confidence, communication and emotional awareness. Ginger also works closely with Adam in his Wellbeing and Mental Health Leader role. Together they guide students through routines that strengthen responsibility, independence and positive engagement.

Ginger has quickly become a favourite member of the Old Orchard community, loved by staff, students and the family community. Students enjoy her gentle presence and staff value the positive impact she brings to classroom climate and wellbeing. Her calm nature, predictable routines and strong connection with students and staff make her a steady support across the school.
