Student Leadership Team

Throughout our students years at Old Orchard, there are many opportunities for students to undertake leadership roles or responsibilities. We trust that all of our Year Six students see themselves as leaders in the school and act as outstanding role models and ambassadors. The formal leadership roles consist of:

  • School Captains & Vice Captains

  • House Captains

  • Specialist Captains (Art, Library, Mandarin, Music, STEM and Sport)

  • Peer Mediator Captains & Peer Mediators

  • S.R.C. Captains

Appointment or selection for these positions require students to:

  • Be an excellent role model in behaviour and appearance

  • Undertake leadership training

  • Meet regularly with Duncan and other staff members as required

  • Assist in organising various activities

  • Be prepared to sacrifice some of their own time to undertake their responsibilities

  • Represent the school at various functions such as Education Week, Information Nights, etc

  • Organise lunchtime activities

  • Take an active role in School Assemblies

  • Prepare reports for School Council

  • Conduct School Tours for prospective families and other visitors

  • Undertake other activities and duties as they arise throughout the year
